Caimbrin & Brian: Anytime

What can I say about these two? Brian and Caimbrin are my brother-in-law and sister-in law, (Brian is Mike’s younger brother) but they’re definitely so much more than that. They are some of our closest friends, and people we just absolutely love. Whether we’re rocking out to Rock Band, going to the beach or hanging with the family, we can always count on lots of laughter when we’re together.
We did this session recently to get some portraits of these two so they would have some updated photos and a little something to send out for a Christmas card. There wasn’t a dull moment on this shoot, and if you’ve ever met them, you understand why. They’re quite a pair.
Here are a few of my favorites!

This one is my FAVORITE!

Looking so stylish.

Bryan & Jamie: Family

I have been neglecting my blog lately due to my ridiculous schedule, but I had a minute, so here goes! Last weekend I photographed Bryan, Jamie and their sweet little one. He has lived with them since he was only a few weeks old. They’ve been in the process of adopting him, and it looks like it will happen soon!
I love seeing them together as a family. The baby loves them and they love him just like any other family. Right in the middle of our session when I was trying to get him to look at the camera, he turned around to Bryan and puckered his lips out to ask for a kiss! After he got a kiss, he turned back around and we finished taking pictures. Adoption is such an awesome display of love, and I’m so glad I could capture these images of them for their Christmas cards.
P.S. This kid is so cute, he’s off the charts :) Just look at him!

Rachel - He is the cutest little boy, I especially like him in the big red chair.December 7, 2008 – 9:54 pm

Gracie, Lauren & Co: Family

I got to hang out with Gracie, Lauren and their family this past Saturday. Their mom, Amanda, asked me to photograph their family of 4 plus the grandparents for Christmas. She found this great location out under a gorgeous oak tree. After the big family group, we headed back to their house for some more fun.
I love it when moms get creative for their kids’ portraits. Amanda had these amazing, whimsical skirts for her girls to wear. They were fantastic, and helped us create some really fun images.
Thanks for letting me hang out with your family!
Hope you all like your photos :)

The whole gang

I loved Amanda’s red shoes :)

The girls specifically requested that I photograph them like this with their legs in the air. Not sure why, but that’s what they wanted. I also told them that they could jump on the bed JUST for pictures, and it would be our little secret :)

Aren’t those skirts amazing?

One of my favorites. Gorgeous girls!

Jake, Carlena & Griffin: Family

I am a little behind with blogging this session, but better late than never, right? Last weekend I met this sweet family down in Lakeland at Hollis Garden. I’d never shot there before, but Carlena suggested it, and it was a great choice! Little Griffin is too stinkin’ cute! We did mostly family photos, but did a few of him by himself, too. It’s always challenging attempting sessions with active little ones, but I think we were able to get some great shots for their Christmas cards. I’m looking forward to photographing Griffin again on his 1st Birthday in a few months!

Need plans for Friday?

This Friday, November 7th, I will be participating in a great fundraiser for an amazing young lady named Kristen. On Christmas Day 2006, Kristen’s mom had to take her to the hospital because she was having trouble breathing. The doctors told Kristen and her mom that she had cancer. She was just 10 years old. Today she is about to turn 12 years old, and after a long battle, she is officially CANCER FREE! Right now she still has to go to the hospital so they can check her progress, and she has one month until she’s finished with chemo.
Last year, I photographed a Photo Story about Kristen for one of my class projects. I was so touched by her strength in the face of such a terrible disease. She is truly an inspiration.
Now, here’s how you can help! There is a Family Fun Night fundraiser this Friday for Kristen. All of the proceeds will go in a fund that is helping Kristen’s family pay for any medical bills that aren’t covered by insurance. Being sick is a big financial burden on a family. This fundraiser will help Kristen’s family focus on her getting better instead of worrying about bills!
The fund raiser will be in the gym of Trinity Assembly church in Fruitland Park. So all of my Lake County clients, come on out! There will be games and food and all kinds of fun for your family. It starts at 4:00 pm and runs until around 8:00 pm. I’ll be setting up a “photo booth” where families can get their pictures taken and order prints. All proceeds go to Kristen’s medical expenses.
If you can’t make it, but you’d like to make a donation, please let me know! I can give you instructions on how to do that.
If you have any questions at all, email me HeidiMitchell@earthlink.net
I hope to see some of you there. Kristen’s family has been able to make it this far because of the help of their community.

Here’s a photo I did of Kristen about a year ago. This is at Arnold Palmer while she is receiving a chemo treatment.

Here’s a more recent picture that I swiped from her blog. She got a new puppy as a celebration of being cancer free and almost through all of her chemo!
