Matt, Johnelly & Elena: Family

This weekend I did a mini-session with Matt, Johnelly & Elena for their Christmas card. Elena is such a cutie, and so sweet! They are expecting their 2nd baby next year, although Johnelly’s belly isn’t too big yet. Mike & I go to church with these guys, and they’re a lot of fun. We enjoy talking about our favorite infomercials and as-seen-on-tv ads. It’s just something we do. Matt is super talented and works at a great Graphic Design firm, Flaxen Design. I’m going to be putting him to work designing some new things for my business pretty soon.
Hope you all like your photos! Can’t wait to do more after the
new baby is born :)

You have to love a face like this! She’s too stinkin’ cute!

Matt tried to get Elena to smile, but when she wouldn’t he just decided to make a pooched-lip face like hers. lol.

Tabitha & EJ: Engagement

This weekend I photographed Tabitha & EJ’s engagement session. They are getting married in April at lovely Lake Receptions in Mount Dora. I met Tabitha a few months ago when she booked me for their wedding, but this was my first time meeting EJ. I called Tabitha a little while before the shoot just to make sure we knew where to meet each other, and I could hear EJ in the background saying, “Do I have to be in the pictures?” Yes, EJ, you have to! He said he was nervous about having his picture taken, but I couldn’t tell! Tabitha & EJ photographed so well. I barely directed them at all. They were giggly and kissy which makes my job of capturing their love so easy!
Thanks guys for choosing me to photograph your engagement and wedding. You guys completely rocked this shoot! Hope you like your pics! April will be here before we know it…
Who says we don’t have fall in Florida? Check out those trees!

This European-style phone booth was such a fun find! So glad we came across it.

Gorgeous!

It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like….

It’s only 2 days after Thanksgiving, and Peanut is already in the Christmas spirit! (Peanut is the 2nd love of my life. Mike comes first, but Peanut is a close second :)
My husband would say that there’s something wrong with me for dressing up my dog and then taking pictures of him, but he just doesn’t understand! Peanut gets a new sweater every Christmas because he shivers all winter long, and he just looked too cute to not photograph. We have another dog, Blondie, but she has a fear of cameras. Go figure. I’m always trying to take pictures of her, and she just runs and hides.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Now I have to find time to buy my tree and decorate….

We call the picture on the right his “emo” look. lol.

Heidi Mitchell - Thanks, Rachel! I love him so I have to keep him warm! lolDecember 8, 2008 – 1:52 am

Rachel - You’re not crazy, I love finding cute sweaters for Lucy. And the smaller dogs do get cold, they need a sweater! Peanut is adorable.December 7, 2008 – 9:48 pm

Heidi Mitchell - Ha! Ya, we have a 60lb yellow lab, and they never have big enough sweaters for her. She always gets left out of the sweater fun!November 30, 2008 – 7:03 pm

Ben and Amy - OMG…haha. This is awesome. I wish they had a sweater big enough to fit Putter. We’d probably have to buy him one in the men’s department. haha.November 30, 2008 – 5:40 pm

Jamie, Carlos, Regina & Morgan: Family

Last weekend I met up with this lovely family to photograph some updated portraits for them. Jamie told me that they had never really had professional family portraits made, so it was definitely time! Their family is so cute! I photographed Jamie and the girls before when they were dabbling into modeling, but this was the first time with the whole family together. The girls were cracking me up all through the shoot. You should have seen their faces when I made them hug for a few photos. It was that classic “do-i-have-to?” sibling look!
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to photograph your incredible family!
I hope you guys like your photos :)

Is it just me, or do they look like they’re actually enjoying hugging each other? lol

Just Jamie & Carlos

Getting some love from mom & dad

So Very Thankful

Today is a day to give thanks. To stop and consider all of the blessings in our lives. I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t always been the most appreciative in the last few months. A hectic schedule and a difficult semester at school can start to weigh on you. But today, I spent the day with my family. I rode in the car with my mom, dad, husband and brothers to go see the rest of our family. We laughed and talked on the way down while Mike and Chris watched Kung Fu Panda on the DVD player. We enjoyed a huge feast of a lunch while surrounded by the rest of our family members. We spent the rest of the warm, sunny afternoon wandering my Aunt’s 20 acres admiring the horses, dogs and her new blueberry farm. I’m so glad there are days like today to take a break from the busyness of life.
No matter what happens with the economy or politics or my finals at school next week, I am blessed beyond measure. I have an incredible husband who adores me. I can see that in his eyes. I have a family that is close and that’s always there to support me. I have more material blessings than so many other people around the world. I live in a country filled with opportunity. At the ages of 24 and 28, Mike and I make a living as entrepreneurs. We do things that we love and people pay us to do them. So today I am truly thankful, and I will try to carry that over into next week and the week after that when real life shows up again.
If you’re reading this blog, then I’m thankful for you, too! That means you are a friend who loves and supports me, or a client who helps make my dream career a reality every day. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you :)

Heidi Mitchell - Love you, too! I will have to keep reading this blog entry and reminding myself about it during this week of school! Finals stink, but I’ll survive :)December 1, 2008 – 5:03 pm

Anonymous - This is why I love you so much!
