Kylie & Miguel: Wedding

The tears started early on in the day. From the time Kylie began putting on her dress, her bridesmaids were having a hard time keeping it together. Her dad walked in the room and immediately began to cry at the sight of his only daughter on her wedding day. Two people, from two different cultures and backgrounds, but perfectly suited for each other. Kylie and Miguel have been so great from the first time we began talking about their wedding back at Christmas. I was on my way to visit family for the holiday, and I get a phone call from a frantic groom. The date for their wedding had just been changed, Kylie was at work unable to call me, so Miguel called and I assured him that I could be there for their new wedding date. Most guys are, as JLo says in The Wedding Planner, NID (Not into details). So I knew Miguel was a keeper for Kylie when he spent his time on the phone with me going over the details of their thoughts on their wedding photography. Seeing them interact during their engagement session and on their wedding day just showed me further how much they love each other.

Kylie & Miguel, I have loved getting to know you both. Thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your wedding. I hope you guys are having an amazing time in Mexico. I wish you nothing but the best! You two deserve it :)

Brandee and her team from Blush did a fabulous job handling all the details for the gorgeous reception.

There was a candy bar where the guests could bag up some of their favorite treats to take home. Yum!

Miguel’s parents surprised him and had a Latin band come for a portion of the reception. I loved his reaction here! He was so surprised and I think a little overwhelmed!

Chase: Newborn

It feels like I have been seeing a lot of my high school classmates these days since everyone is getting married or having babies :) Crystal and I graduated together, and I was thrilled when she asked me to come photograph her new little bundle of joy, Chase. I was able to see him nice & early at only 1.5 weeks old. Perfect for a newborn session! He is so adorable, and he was amazing during the session. Can’t wait to see this little guy more as he grows!

Speaking of newborns, I’ll be hopping on a plane to go see my bestie, Stephanie, and her brand new baby boy, Graham. I am so excited to be sneaking a visit in while he’s only a week old, and he can get a photography session now, since there are great photographers as Melissa Rabbitt Newborn Photographer which specialize in this. I’ll be out of town from Tuesday, August 25 through Thursday, August 27. I’ll return calls and emails Friday and Monday.

Lori & Seth: Anniversary

It was monsooning my entire drive over to New Smyrna Beach. (Monsooning may not be a word to Mr. Webster, but i think it’s completely appropriate in certain situations.) Rain is not what you want to see on your way to photograph a beach wedding. It was not looking good for an outdoor ceremony. Thankfully the beautiful condo where the reception was being held had a f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s penthouse that was not occupied and the owners offered to let the ceremony take place there. A sure sign that rain really is good luck on your wedding day! The ceremony was gorgeous, and the sun made a late day appearance just in time for some super wonderful beach photos with the bridal party.

Lori and Seth, your wedding was one of my all time favorites! Not only were you two amazing to photograph, but there was so much love present during your day that it was almost tangible. I loved being a part. And I’ll never forget your hilarious and adorable flower girl asking Mike is he was a super hero ;) That has become a classic in our family.

Happy 1 year anniversary! (Or 1 year and 2 weeks I guess. This post is slightly overdo.) You guys deserve lots and lots of love and happiness. So glad you are back in Florida, and I’m hoping to run into you soon :)

Kristen & Zack: Wedding

It was day filled with comfortable love. Like the kind John Mayer sings about. Kristen and Zack let all of the busyness and stresses that can come with a wedding day slip past them and just focused on each other. They smiled genuinely at each other as they spoke their vows in front of their pastor, families and friends. They beamed as they shared their first dance, and Zack smiled a soft but proud smile as he spun his new bride.

It was a hot, hot, hot but beautiful day. All of the groom’s guests were from Wisconsin, so they were probably convinced that they were actually going to melt in the sweltering humidity that is August in Florida. The ceremony was at the beautiful Church on the Square in The Villages, and there are some great locations for photography near there.

Kristen and Zack, thank you so much for having me as a part of your wedding day. You and your families were incredibly wonderful and gracious. I am so glad that you chose me to capture all of the sweet moments of your wedding.
