Laura & Sean: Engagement

Last week I photographed Laura & Sean’s engagement session. I honestly laughed so hard and had so much fun with these two. I graduated from high school with both of them. Laura is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and Sean is one of the funniest people you will ever meet. They’re a pretty good combo. They’ve actually been dating since our high school years, and I’m so happy that they are getting married. Sean has lived away for the past several years getting his Doctor of Pharmacy degree all finished up, so he’s now Dr. Sean, and I told him he should definitely use the title since he’s earned it!

Laura & Sean, I’m so happy for you both, and I feel so privileged to be a part of your lives and your wedding this fall.

Lisa Lotter - Love this session. You are awesome!June 2, 2010 – 7:29 pm

Abriella: Newborn

Meet the lovely Abriella, my cousin’s new little baby girl. I may be biased, but I’m pretty sure she’s gorgeous! Laurie & I were close growing up, so it was fun being pregnant at the same time. After Lincoln is born, he & Abriella will be able to hang out at family gatherings, and I think that’s pretty cool.

Here are a few of my favorites from her newborn session:

Lisa Lotter - Have to agree I too love the bird bath image. She is super sweet!June 2, 2010 – 7:31 pm

Dad & Tricia - Absolutely beautiful – both mother and daughter, although Grandpa went “oo-oo-ooh” when he saw the birdbath pictures. He was afraid she might wiggle! Heidi, you do wonderful work.May 11, 2010 – 10:37 pm

Lianne - OMG Heidi!! These pictures are so beautiful of Abriella! I am in love with the bird bath picture and the black and white of her and Laurie. They are amazing! Can’t wait for the wedding! See you soon! :o)May 11, 2010 – 9:10 pm

MaryLou Farris - I have to say you do some of the best work i’ve ever seen. I met you at Aimee and Mikes wedding. My parents live next to Aimee’s parents and have for years i’m the one with Twins and the 5 year old boys. I have watched all the pictures you have done for her and I just have to say your work is beautiful! I hope to get to work with you in the future, but traveling to Lake County and paying your prices probably won’t be in my budjet but I love your work.May 10, 2010 – 7:49 pm

Alicia Candelora - You might be biased, but I am not. She IS beautiful! Love the poolside shot ;)May 10, 2010 – 7:47 pm

Chelsea & Levi: Wedding

Chelsea and Levi had a beautiful, cozy at-home wedding at Chelsea’s parents’ house a few weekends ago. There’s nothing more fun than an outdoor spring wedding! It was a gorgeous day, and I’m so thankful I was able to be a part.

Chelsea made me extra happy when she told me that she and Levi wanted to do a First Look. It was perfect. I loved capturing those moments between the two of them. And as an added bonus, all portraits were done prior to the ceremony, so the happy couple was able to go straight from their ceremony to their reception.

Here are a few of my favorites!

Danielle & Joe: Engagement

I met Danielle & Joe a couple of weekends ago up at the University of Florida for their Gator-themed engagement session. They live in South Florida, but they’re both Gator alum and thought it would be fun to shoot their session on campus. One nice thing about doing a session on the campus of a university is that you walk. A lot. Which means I got lots of time to talk and get to know these two! They are so sweet and so much fun, and I love how their photos turned out.

If this stadium wasn’t so far from my hospital, I would go back in a few weeks when I’m ready to jump start labor! We got our exercise for the day walking all around and up & down the steps.

Danielle showed me where their own personal brick was on campus, so we decided to incorporate it into the shoot.

Lincoln’s Lovely Little Space: Personal

This post has been a long time in the making! Our nursery is finally complete. I had an amazing baby shower given for me at my house on Friday, and I made that date our “deadline” to have the nursery finished. Thankfully, we did it! I’m pretty much ready for Lincoln. Now I just have a few weeks to wrap up sessions, editing & blogging so I can begin maternity leave!

BEFORE.

Don’t judge. When we found out I was pregnant, we gave away the furniture that used to be in this room knowing it would no longer be needed.

One of my favorite passages of scripture is Psalm 23, so I decided to make a little piece of art with one of those verses.

_mg_1152_mg_1155

This was a total budget room. It doesn’t bother me if other people shell out $6k on a nursery, but I knew we would not be doing that. I firmly believe in shopping sales and being creative. I really only had one splurge in the room, and that was the glider. I figured it would be worth it to have a cute & comfy place to hang out with Lincoln at 2 am. So if you’re interested, here’s the breakdown of the room, which we did for right around $1,100. Not bad considering we didn’t own one piece of baby gear when we started this project!
