I’m Still Here: Personal

Yes, I’m still here! I’m ashamed to even look at how long it’s been since I’ve updated, but I am technically still on maternity leave, so cut me some slack ;)

It’s been a crazy adventure for the Mitchell family the past several weeks. I can’t believe Lincoln turns 6 weeks old today! He’s incredibly adorable,(if I do say so myself) and he’s also quite a handful. His cuteness helps make up for the craziness he has brought to my life!

Please keep my family in your prayers. My husband Mike was hospitalized last week. It was very scary and very unexpected. We are still waiting on some test results, but he is back home and feeling better. Needless to say, newborn + sick husband = a slightly stressed & exhausted me.

I’m excited about getting back to work later this summer, & I’ve enjoyed meeting some new couples recently whose weddings I’ll be photographing later this year & next year!

Stephanie & Ryan: Wedding

Finally! Having a baby kind of got in the way of creating this post! I photographed my cousin Stephanie’s wedding just 10 days before Lincoln was born. Stephanie and her sister Laurie were the closest things I had to sisters as a kid. My mom likes to tell the story of how even as a baby I would cry when she came to pick me up from my Aunt Karen’s house to take me home. I’m blessed to be from a close, loving family, and it was an honor to be asked to photograph Stephanie & Ryan’s wedding.

The festivities took place at the adorable Postcard Inn on Saint Petersburg beach. This Inn was just perfect for photos. It has such a funky/eclectic/modern vibe. And the food was good, too!

Because I was so very pregnant, I asked my dear friend and amazing photographer, Ashley McCormick, to accompany me to the wedding. I’m so thankful she was there. My poor, swollen feet needed a break after the ceremony. It was also nice to be able to enjoy some time with family during the reception knowing that she had everything under control. I posted a few of her images since to help complete the story of the day.

Stephanie & Ryan, I love you guys and I’m so happy for you! The wedding was so cute, and I’m thankful you invited me to be a part :)

And this is why I needed Ashley’s help. Me at 38 weeks pregnant at the wedding! So glad Lincoln is finally here :) The rest of the photos were taken by Ashley!

What I’ve Been Up To: Personal

You may have noticed that I’ve been absent from my blog for a while. Well, I have a very good excuse for once. On Monday, May 24, my little boy was born. Lincoln surprised us all weighing in at a hefty 9 lbs 1 oz and measuring 21 inches long. Needless to say, I’ve been a bit preoccupied! Mike & I are spending lots of time giving kisses and getting to know our sweet boy.

I’ll be on maternity leave for the next several weeks, but I will attempt to continue blogging once a week. I’ll be officially coming back to work later this summer, but you can still contact me any time through phone or email to discuss future weddings or sessions.

Here’s a photo of Lincoln in the hospital. His professional newborn photos will be taken this week, and I can’t wait to share them soon!

Because I’m a photo tease, here’s a sneak peek of my cousin’s adorable beachside wedding last week. The Postcard Inn was truly a unique and fun venue for photos. Stephanie & Ryan planned a really fun & relaxed wedding, and I was so glad to be a part. Many, many more photos to come!

In case you were wondering, yes, I’m still pregnant. And I’m now on bed rest. Hopefully my doctor doesn’t follow my blog, because I’m supposed to be resting & not working. I just snuck in my office for one minute to post this photo for Stephanie, I promise. Back to the couch I go.
