Laurie & Co: Family

Well, my blog readers are getting to see a lot of my family these days! I just posted my brother’s engagement session, and now this session is of my aunt, uncle & cousins. I’m sure there will be more family-related posts this year since we have 4 weddings & 2 babies coming in 2010. It’s an eventful year.

A couple of weeks ago, my mom & I traveled to The Palmer House in Lithia for my cousin Laurie’s baby shower. Since we don’t live too close and don’t see each other as often as we’d like, we took the opportunity to do some family & maternity photos after the baby shower ended. The Innkeeper, Gail, was kind enough to let us hang around and use her lovely bed and breakfast as the backdrop for the session.

Here are just a few of my favorites!

Steff - I love the only with Laurie and John sitting in the grass with the gazebo in the background and he’s kissing her. Oak trees make for the best backdrops. Great Job, Preggers.April 2, 2010 – 2:00 pm

Linda - Beautiful family and you did an excellent job as usual! You definitely have the “gift of photography”. :)April 1, 2010 – 6:56 pm

Michael & Lauren: Engagement

This is an extra special engagement session post, because it’s my little brother & his fiancee. Michael is four years younger than I am, and I can’t believe he’ll be getting married this year! I was always his 2nd mom growing up. Not that he wanted me to be, but I played that role well. My grandma loves to tell the story of how I would try to force Michael to sit & listen to me read Bible lessons from Sunday School to him. I would get furious with him for wanting to play with his GI Joes during my lesson. Maybe all of my preaching paid off, because he’ll be graduating this year with a degree in theology ;)

I’m so excited for the wedding this fall. I did the engagement session for them, but my close friend, Ashley McCormick, will be handling the photo duties on the wedding day so that I can enjoy being a bridesmaid and spending the day with my family.

Michael & Lauren, I love you guys and can’t wait for the big day!

Just for fun, we’ll start with what I call Vintage Heidi & Michael. Gotta love the 80’s. I’ve always loved this kid! He used to be my “little” brother. Now he towers over me at about 6’4″. (See, Michael. There was a day when I was taller than you!)

Now here he is today with his fiancee :) This is Part One of their engagement session. We have big plans for a Part Two in a few weeks!

Logan: 3 months

Meet Mr. Logan, or as I call him, the first baby of Heidi Mitchell Photography :) Emily & Daniel’s wedding was the first one I photographed back in 2008, and now they’re the first of my wedding couples to have a baby! We had every intention of doing a newborn session, but life got in the way. Poor baby Logan ended up in the hospital when we were scheduled to do his newborn session the first time. Then when we had the second date on the calendar, I ended up with the stomach flu. So somehow it ended up being a 3 month session instead of a newborn. Oh well, we got it done eventually! Looking forward to watching this little guy grow!

He looks slightly stressed here with his hand on his head, but oh-so-adorable.

The Vasquez Crew: Family

See, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth! I’m finally blogging again! Spring is always a super hectic time of year, but this year has been even crazier since I’m trying to squeeze so many appointments in before I take maternity leave. I think I still have 6 more sessions to blog just from the last 2 weeks. I’m attempting to get caught up!

On to the Vasquez family. I graduated with one of the girls, Toni. It was great to see her again and meet her wonderful family. Mom, dad, 3 daughters & 2 granddaughters. Poor dad is surrounded by women ;) Here are just a few of my favorites!

Stephanie & Gregg: Anniversary

I know I’m about a week late, but here’s a Happy 1st Anniversary post for Stephanie & Gregg. Their wedding last March was definitely one of my all-time favorites. They planned an incredible wedding weekend for all of their family & friends, and there was no shortage of laughter & love! I just found out last week that they’re expecting a baby boy later this year, so double congratulations to them! I think that makes 3 of my brides from last year that are expecting little ones soon.

Stephanie & Gregg, I hope you had a wonderful anniversary and first year of marriage. I’m glad I was able to be a part of your wedding last year, and I’m looking forward to seeing you again for some belly & baby photos! Congratulations!
