This post has been a long time in the making! Our nursery is finally complete. I had an amazing baby shower given for me at my house on Friday, and I made that date our “deadline” to have the nursery finished. Thankfully, we did it! I’m pretty much ready for Lincoln. Now I just have a few weeks to wrap up sessions, editing & blogging so I can begin maternity leave!
BEFORE.
Don’t judge. When we found out I was pregnant, we gave away the furniture that used to be in this room knowing it would no longer be needed.
The vintage (ie flea market) dresser before my husband got a hold of it.
AFTER
I followed the instructions given by the Youngsters on Young House Love to line the dresser drawers.
My mom made him these valances.
The little owl art with his name was made for him by my friend, Ashley :)
Adorable stuffed owls made by my friend, Stephanie.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is Psalm 23, so I decided to make a little piece of art with one of those verses.
This was a total budget room. It doesn’t bother me if other people shell out $6k on a nursery, but I knew we would not be doing that. I firmly believe in shopping sales and being creative. I really only had one splurge in the room, and that was the glider. I figured it would be worth it to have a cute & comfy place to hang out with Lincoln at 2 am. So if you’re interested, here’s the breakdown of the room, which we did for right around $1,100. Not bad considering we didn’t own one piece of baby gear when we started this project!
