{Marlie} Newborn

I photographed baby Marlie’s parents’ wedding back in 2009. There’s nothing like getting the call back to photograph a newborn session for one of your previous wedding couples! Marlie is just so sweet & beautiful. All these baby girls popping up in my life lately definitely give me baby girl fever!

She didn’t want to sleep during her session. Why miss out on all the fun?

Favorite. I think.

Or maybe this is my favorite. She’s too cute to choose.

“What are you looking at?” face ;)

A ruffly, little baby bum :)

Kylie - I just love them Heidi. I look at them everyday! Can’t wait to pick my favorites! :)June 3, 2011 – 5:57 pm

stephanie - Lynsey speaks truth….but maybe, just maybe, one of my friends will have a girl! Beautiful little bundle.June 1, 2011 – 7:54 pm

Lynsey - These are great! She is such a pretty baby. Be careful with that baby girl fever- because you know what happens, you have another boy!June 1, 2011 – 5:38 pm

{Mackenzie & Austin}

This session was so much fun. Mackenzie is beautiful, and a natural in front of the camera! We snuck in a few photos at the end with her brother, too. It’s always fun to make siblings hug and hold hands for photos ;) I just love how these turned out. It helps when your models are adorable!

Mo - Heidi, even with all that wind, you still made my kids look great. You’re amazing at what you do, and I hope to be 1/2 as good as you are one day! :) Love ya girl!May 24, 2011 – 10:12 pm

Caimbrin - So cute! I love them!!May 24, 2011 – 9:40 pm

A New Look

Growing as a business is kind of like growing as a person. When you start your business, you’re like a freshmen in college. Remember those days? Lots of fun, but you’re definitely a different person at 27 than you were at 18. That’s kind of how I felt about my branding. I’ve grown and changed so much that it didn’t really reflect who I was anymore. It’s like still wearing the same clothes you picked out in those college years. If I could even button those clothes now (which I could not), they wouldn’t be “me” anymore. I’m finally at a place in my business (and in life, really) where I feel like I know who I am and what my style is.

With that in mind, I wanted to freshen up my branding to make it reflect me. I called the ever-amazing Leslie Vega to help me out. I created a mood board to send to her to give her the feel of what I was after. I’m a visual person after all (and so is Leslie), so it only seemed fitting. I wanted something simple, natural and a little fun, too. The result was so beautiful and so “me”. Now that I’m through my formative, college-like experience as a photographer & business person, this is the branding that’s here to stay. Love it so much.

I sent Leslie this:

And she sent me these. A logo and a seal.

Hope everyone likes it as much as I do! The blog and website are still undergoing some changes, but hopefully in the next few weeks, I’ll have everything completed. I never knew how many places I had my logo until I’ve had to go through & change it everywhere! I’m working on completing this rebranding project. The next phase will be showing you all my lovely new packaging to go along with the new branding :)

Thank you, Leslie, for once again doing an incredible job!

Ashley - I just loooove your new branding!! It is so “you” :). Congratulations! It looks fabulous!May 24, 2011 – 11:41 pm

stephanie - Oooops. I completely forgot to comment on this. I really like it. The green is fab and the little plant leaf reminds me of a Ginko tree which just happens to be my favorite :)May 23, 2011 – 7:13 pm

Leslie Vega - Awe, Heidi, it looks awesome!!! So glad I could help.May 19, 2011 – 6:36 pm

Diane Dawson - I like the new look but really didn’t think the old one was bad. I, too, have just changed my business card and invoices…clean and to the point.May 19, 2011 – 6:34 pm

{Shelby & Aaron} Featured on Wedding Chicks

Saturday was a pretty exciting day for me. One of my favorite engagement sessions was featured on The Wedding Chicks! I was so honored to have my work on their front page. I mean, it’s The Wedding Chicks. They’re one of the biggest names in the wedding industry. Thanks so much to the ladies over at WC for showcasing Shelby & Aaron’s engagement session :) You can click here to see the feature!

{Caimbrin & Brian} Anniversary photos at the fair

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law will celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary later this year, so they wanted some fun photos to commemorate the occasion. We were going to wait until the fall, but Caimbrin decided that she wanted the photos at the fair! So off to the fair we went. I love all the bright colors and fun backgrounds. It’s just perfect for their personalities.

Happy early Anniversary, guys!
